Support Whirligig and Support Irish Theatre and Talent

Traditionally the Arts in Ireland, including Theatre Arts, were funded by government through the Arts' Council. However, in recent years due to our unique financial situation, cuts in investment in the arts have lead to the closure of many Theatre Companies. In common with other small arts' organisations, Whirligig Theatre Company has tried to produce high quality theatre on small budgets. Inevitably this means that actors and directors are working for little or no money while striving to create theatre that leaves a lasting experience, theatre that connects, theatre that inspires. On 8th October 2014, the minister for the Arts Heather Humphreys TD laid out her priorities for the arts and stressed the hugely positive impact of arts and culture in our society. However, it is essential that we investigate means other than traditional funding

options to enable us to continue to produce high quality work.

In choosing to produce Risk Everything we were motivated by the

desire to bring work by an internationally renowned dramatist to a new audience.

George F. Walker is relatively unknown in Ireland and we are convinced that

Irish audiences will enjoy and appreciate this new voice.

We are seeking your help in bringing Walker's work to our audiences, initially in Dublin and later in a planned tour outside of the capital.

We hope that you will be interested in supporting Risk Everything.

To discuss Corporate Sponsorship opportunities and packages, please contact Ann Russell (087 2397859) or Sine Lynch (086 8450781)

If you would like to support a particular aspect of our production, perhaps set or costume design, we would be happy to discuss this with you.

We have assembled a team of highly experienced theatre professionals who have collectively

over 50 years experience producing and performing high quality theatre.

From Left to Right: Pat Nolan is instantly recognized for his role as Barry O’ Hanlon in Fair City. Neil Fleming is well known for his recent appearances in Fair City, Game of Thrones and the award winning Hit Producer. Our award-winning director Liam Halligan, actress Ann Russell and Pat Nolan trained with the legendary Deirdre O’Connell at Dublin’s Focus Theatre. All have performed extensively in theatres throughout Ireland and the UK and Liam is a highly respected director and facilitator lecturing in University College Dublin, The Gaiety School of Acting and CIT.

Teri Fitzgerald is a recent graduate of the Gaiety School of Acting and is

already making a name for herself both as an actor and a dramatist.

Award winning set and costume designer Maree Kearns leads our design team. Maree has worked in theatres throughout Ireland and the UK as well as designing for film, TV, opera and dance. In 2009 she won the Irish Times Award for Best Set Designer for Observe the Sons of Ulster Marching Towards the Somme, and in 2008 was nominated for Irish Times Best Costume Designer Award for The Dead School (Nomad Theatre Network).
